We offer Ametherm’s RTI Electronics brand of thermistors.  Ametherm acquired the RTI Electronics SURGE-GUARD inrush current limiter product line from Measurement Specialties in October of 2013.

First launched in 1972, RTI Electronics brand products include passive electronic components including film capacitors, magnetic transformers and inductors, and audio power conditioning units. The line spans value-added and application specific components as well as custom design to meet a variety of unique customer requirements.

A thermistor is a device whose electrical resistance is controlled by temperature. Thermistors are available in two types: NTC thermistors, or negative thermal coefficient thermistors, and PTC thermistors, or positive thermal coefficient thermistors. In NTC thermistors, the resistance decreases proportionally with increases in temperature. PTC thermistors, on the other hand, have increasing resistance with increasing temperature.
